About Me

I’m Zach, an author who discovered storytelling as a second act in life. Growing up dyslexic, I struggled in school but always loved a good tall tale, especially those told around campfires or exchanged on long road trips. After being laid off in my late 20s, I finally took the leap to write my first novel, drawing inspiration from my roots and the kind of stories that shaped me. My work—like my debut novel "Alkali’s Monster"—blends rural folklore with themes of growth and acceptance, reframing horror as something deeply human. Writing hasn’t come easily, but adopting discipline and embracing the grind of self-publishing has made it worth it!
